What ideas, projects or initiatives do you have for next year? What is your main goal?
One bill I would like to do is a maintenance report form, where students can fill out the form if they see an issue with the school, such as water pressure being too low or a sink not working. Then, the operations staff can be notified of what needs to be fixed and try to fix it. Another idea was a school supplies vending machine just in case students forget or lose their supplies and they really need them for something like a test. Some smaller bills I want to do are adding a basketball hoop to Kenwood Mall and having a supply donation program, so students graduating could give their books and other supplies to incoming ninth graders or others who need them. I also want to continue working on having open classrooms during Lab periods. For events, I would like to host a BBQ social and a junior prom.
What experiences, skills and other qualifications make you a good candidate for this position?
I was vice president in middle school, and I have been president for ninth grade and sophomore years. I have tons of experience working on bills and events, and I know exactly where to go for help completing these bills.
How do you plan on being the voice of students while working in conjunction with faculty and admin?
The Student Council already has a feedback form for students to give their ideas on bills or ideas, but I would like to create more methods of feedback, maybe through social media or something of that nature so that we can work with faculty and admin to put in place those ideas.
